Kit McCann

Kit McCann grew up in a Coast Guard family that moved all over the country, which gave her a love of the ocean, an adaptability to change, and the ability to see all of her possessions like pieces in a game of Tetris. After finishing graduate school in New York City and becoming a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist, Kit and her partner decided that they were ready to move to New England. But instead of coming straight North, Kit decided to take a roundabout way of heading home. She packed a backpack, hopped a train to Georgia, and then walked for six months all the way to Maine along the Appalachian Trail.
After finishing that journey, Kit and her partner Michael knew that they were ready to own their own home, but they weren’t sure where exactly to put it yet. Such it was that they found out about tiny houses. It was the perfect in-between, and after living in a tent for months, a tiny house was just the right size. Kit and Michael bought a tiny house in the spring of 2014, did a lot of work to build up the inside to make it in a permanent home, and have been living here there and everywhere in Maine ever since.
